Dennis The Menace

This story is brought to you by Jean-Paul Nunez, Mariana Sandoval, Tallis Matus, and Jacob Wells. We hope you enjoy the story!
The results were in and Dennis sighed heavily as he sat in the oval office. He lost. To a piece of machine. A machine that doesn’t even know the first thing about running an office, until it’s programmed to. He gripped his left fist hard with his right and stared forward. There was no point in demanding a recount, everything was done safely and securely through the established ballot counter programs.
He needed a new plan, some way to get back at those creeps in the senate. They knew what they were doing when it came to the new-fangled virtual president, they wanted to get rid of him. The senate needed somebody that they had power over in the oval office and it is pretty simple to choose a robot for that. But the idea of implanting chips in the population’s brain so that they could experience this virtual president seemed outlandish to him, and if it was crazy to him then someone else had to think so as well. He just had to find these people and he knew he could use them to get back at the senate.
Dennis had made up his mind, He would head to the southern states to start a new campaign and to reclaim his presidency. He would gather up the neo-luddites and any who opposed the idea of being chipped or having a virtual president. He was well respected and knew that the southerners would be willing to help him take back his seat at the white house if they felt their rights were being infringed upon. A chip in the brain seems like the biggest infringement that you could possibly have, what better to use to stir up the south. If the South were rallied behind him then there is a good chance that he could march on the White house in protest. People would see him and his followers and perhaps would join him on his “crusade.”
A few days later
This was not going to plan at all. Dennis did go south like he had originally planned, and he managed to rally them to his cause, but he did not expect the response he got. All he wanted was to protest his removal from office, and perhaps force the judiciary branch to open a case that could give him his office back. Instead, the group he gathered evolved from a group of protesters, to a group of rioters, and from there into a straight up militia. Perhaps he could still make it work though, and if the peaceful option did not work he has a Militia to back him up.
A few more days later (wish we had spongebob title cards for this)
Dennis placed the blue-prints of the updated white house on the table. They couldn’t use any type of technology if they wanted to successfully storm the white house. Couldn’t risk the F.B.I discovering operation ‘Olympus Falls’ before anything could take place. He was too far in to back down and could taste victory and sweet sweet AI tears. Dennis placed his pointer finger at the entrance of the white house and looked up to see if everyone was following.
Once receiving confirmation that they were, he set his plan into motion. His pointer finger slid smoothly on the blue-print paper as he mapped out where each individual group would be stationed. His nerves were getting riled up at the mere thought of having his position back. He closed his eyes for a second, chest tightening as he sucked in a breath. There can be no room for failure. Nor distraction on his part. Dennis continued on, mapping out where Sierra and Tango group would end up. If all went well, there’d be no more AI elections when he’s back in power.
Dennis and his militia had come to a standstill outside the doors to the White house. They had managed to successfully breach the front lawn and push to the doors with minimal casualties, but there was a new obstacle in their path. The secret service. It’s true, they did technically fight them on the front lawn, but fighting them inside the White house would be much more difficult as they were expecting them now. The biggest problem, and the one that brought them to a standstill however, was Dennis’s emotions. He was beginning to realize that if he wanted to take back the white house he would have to fight, and possibly kill some of his friends. He knew some of these secret service members personally and wasn’t sure if he would be able to forgive himself if he had to watch them die, or God forbid be the one to kill them himself.
In the end though, Dennis knew what he wanted. He wanted that office back, his office back, and if it took some death and sacrifice then so be it. He and his militia were fighting for freedom and the American dream, they were not going to back down, no matter what. They breached the door of the White House and fought their way to the Oval Office where the “new president” was located and finished it. The virtual president was no more, and with heavy losses on both sides the militia still came out victorious. Dennis had recovered his office, and this time he wasn’t going to be letting it go.
