2060: A Time Travel Story

The year is 2060. The world is in great trouble, the population has gone over capacity for the earth, resources have gotten very low. Drinkable water is a luxury to only the richest. Food has been rationed out by the government for several years. There is a new normal, but people are starting to disagree with officials and countries are falling apart from the inside out. Luckily technology has advanced very far and you and your team of scientists have created a time machine to give you and humanity a second chance at survival. It is now in your hands to save it. The question is, will you risk your life to save the world or send someone else? Investigators from the governments of the world come to interrogate you and end up locking you in a cell in Area 51 due to what they think is the high probability of you beng an alien. You know you are here to save huimanity from its ultimate demise, but they dont trust you. All you can do now is [[rewind|I can do it!]]

Maybe the best option is to keep your knowlege of the future a secret for now and perhaps find the right people to talk to first. Who do you want to try and meet first? [[President Joe Biden]] [[Nearby scientist]]

You attempt to contact the president. Email: no response Phone: no response Twitter: no response You see one final option left: walking up to the front of the white house and demanding to speak to the president. You approach the gates and are meeted by a guard. He asks the purpose of your presence and you tell him the concerns you have about the world in the future. [[You give your full story]]

After hearing your story, he surprisingly understands and agrees to contact the president [[what? really?]]

The president returns the call and agrees to have a discussion. He meets you at The White House doors imediately and with his generous caring eyes and soft smile invites you [[in]].

You wake up, that mustve been a dream. You're back in your time machine. If only it were that simple. The accountant! What a wonderful choice. He's very good at crunching the numbers and...um...doing his taxes! This should be fine though, there are plenty of things he can do. [[let's go!]]

Even though Bill was chosen to go, he was too valuable. His background in meteorology could provide a significant advantage. They instead sent Dave first to check the systems. Then excited Jack to follow and find him. Now that the guniea pigs are gone you are being sent to find both of them and provide them guidance. Bill understands this shady operation and decides to [[go anyway]]

Jack! We need you! the world is in a dire situation and in need of someone like you! Your mission: Go to the year 2031 and find a man named Dave. He was sent earlier to save the world but he failed and became stranded. We need you to carry the virtual telephone wire so we can contact him again. [[You can do this!]]

Dave kisses his wife and son goodbye, then hops in the time traveling machine. The scientists around him are linked to his headset and give him the specific jump coordinates and date. He's a corporate man so he's very good at following directions. He types them all in: February 19th, 2021; Bank of America. The ground team counts down the jump 3 2 1 [[Jump!]]

ZAP! Dave's machine sparks and he starts to expand then quickly shrink into nothing. He's gone. Now we [[wait]].

Inside the time capsule Dave is shaken and stirred about the cabin. He feels like hes being torn apart. (live: 5s) [This only lasts for a few seconds and hes back to his normal self Time to [[step]] out of the capsule] (stop:)

Dave opens the door, he smells...snow? Fresh air? This doesn't smell like the Bank of America in New York. He steps out into four feet of snow. He looks around the great wilderness he has landed in. The time machine must have messed up and put me in a snow bank instead. He thought maybe he should hop back in and [[try again]].

Dave steps back in and tries to put his skill set to use. He crunches the numbers and plots the points. Let's try this again he says. Turning the key on the control pannel, he then pushes the button. [[Jump]]

ZING! Off he goes again! This ripping sensation really isn't getting any better. But before he knows it he's back on the ground. Dave takes a deep breath and [[opens the door]].

Dave opens the door once again. He's made it! The wonderful Bank of America. The city is bustling! The new president is in office and the vaccine for the awful COVID-19 virus has been distributed. Now that Dave is here, what can he do? Dave thinks it's best if he follows what he [[knows.]]

He decides maybe the best way to impact the future is to work his way into the corporate business and make his way to politics. But will this work? [[yes|oh well]] [[no|oh well]]

Thank you for your opinion, but that doesn't matter much to Dave. Dave works his way up the corporate heirarchy rather quickly. He eventually ran for a position in the senate. He tried his hardest to change legislation but to no avail. The future had not changed and he had failed. It had taken so long to do this that the time machine had rusted and become inoperable. Dave is stuck in the past. Might as well live out his days doing something he'd always wanted to do. Dave starts a small farm. (live: 30s) [Flash! Who is this? A man of similar age apears from the smoke in front of the flash. It seems like he's looking for someone. He looks at you in disbelief and says "Dave? is that you?" [[Who is this?]]] (stop:)

He says his name is Jack from the future. He says he's here to help him save the world. This is Dave's second chance! [[Take it!]]

They hop in the farm truck and head out. All of this space and time travel has gotten them hungry. They decide to stop at a local McDonald's just for a second to grab a bite to eat. They arive at the restaurant and are surprised by a flash [[What was that?]]

This seems much better than being a garbage man! You can do something exciting and break free from the same routine everyday. Time to find your purpose in life Jack. A much less smelly purpose. Jack steps into the time machine with one last look around the room. He salutes the scintists and ducks his head in to [[launch]]

ZAP! Jack's machine sparks and he starts to expand then quickly shrink into nothing. He's [[gone]]

He flashes back to reality and shakes his head. "WOOO that was a rush!" He cracks open the capsule and finds a sheep staring him in the face through the smoke. What might this be? A farm? [[Clear the smoke]]

Jack sees a body in the distance, he squints his eyes to get a more clear view. Jack calls out "Dave? is that you?" The man says his name is Dave. You explain youre looking for an old time traveler and that the world can still be saved. He agrees to [[join you.|Take it!]]

He places himself in the cockpit of the time machine and straps himself in. Its go time. Bill checks all of his instruments and double checks with the scientists. They give him the thumbs up. He sits up in his seat and closes his eyes. [[ZAP]]

Bill's machine sparks and he starts to expand then quickly shrink into nothing. [[Vanished]]

Bill snaps back into reality and is in a...McDonald's? He wanders through the restaurant and spots familiar faces. It's Dave and Jack! What are they doing here??? [[Get out of capsule|What was that?]]

Dave and Jack approach the flash as Bill emerges. They are all equally confused but greatful the other is there. Now we can save the world together. Theres no possible way things could go wrong now. Together, they travel to the most intelligent and influential person they [[know...]]

But everyone has a different opinion. They know so many people in the sciences and politics, but they settle on three individuals They can choose from this list: [[Dr. Jill]] - Computer Scientist [[Dr. Faye]] - Rocket Scientist [[Dr. Webb]] - Agriculture Specialist

Dr. Jill huh? We can definitely see what she is capable of. Her degree in computer science will provide a good base for the technological part of saving the world. Humanity needs technology to survive and grow. Maybe she can help us with the creation and programing of new renewable energies. [[No time like the present!|combine forces!]]

She may be a good choice. Dr. Faye might be good for a last-ditch effort if things come to the point where earth needs to be evacuated. Rocket scientists are very good problem solvers and future oriented people. Maybe we can focus more on that skill set of hers. We don't have [[time to waste!|join forces!]]

Dr. Webb is a pretty good choice, being that she works in agriculture, she may have some good information on how to keep humanity fed through these tough times. She is also experienced with chemical reactions and the scientific method. Maybe she would be best used for experimental analyis. We can [[do this!|see what they offer!]]
